New voting technology in Gregg Co brings voters quick election results

Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) - Gregg County voters and candidates soon won't have to wait for  results.

Commissioners agreed this week to use 28,000 dollars in state election grants to purchase new software.

The software will allow you to get information online about election results, voter identification, and candidate filings.

"It can have news flashes on there such as the voter ID issues. So it's a new full-screen graphic information page for the voters and the candidates and the media to look at," says Kathryn Nealy, Gregg County elections administrator.

Nealy said the program should be up and running by January 1.
