FROM TITUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

TITUS COUNTY (KYTX) - A Titus County man is arrested for murder after allegedly stabbing his sister.

Around  9 PM Wednesday night, Titus County Sheriffs' deputies responded to the 100 block of Lillienstern in Talco in regards to a stabbing.  Deputies found 56 year old Theresa Collins dead from what appeared to be stab wounds.  Investigators say her husband found the body when he returned from getting food in Mount Pleasant.

50 year old Steven Lee Neugent, who lived in the home, was there when Theresa's husband left, but he wasn't there when he returned. Theresa's vehicle was also gone.

Pittsburg Police later found Neugent at a local convenient store. Titus County deputies transported Neugent back to the Titus County Sheriff's Office where he confessed to stabbing Theresa Collins after a heated argument. He also told investigators where they could find the knife he used to commit the assault.

If convicted, Neugent could face up to life in prison. In addition to imprisonment, he may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000.
