Business News: Government says "no" To AA airline merger deal

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - American Airlines and US Airways want to know why the government is saying "no" to their proposed merger when it's said "yes" to so many others.

The two carriers are asking a judge to order the Justice Department to turn over documents about four previous airline mergers including the United-Continental hook up.

The government is suing to block a merger between American and US Airways, saying it will hurt competition and raise prices.

(CBS) - The New York based tech company, Rocket Fuel, is looking to keep the momentum going.

It's stock took off Friday in its market debut, up 90 percent to top $62 dollars a share.

Rocket Fuel focuses on artificial intelligence and trades on the Nasdaq under the symbol "Fuel".

(CBS) - Officials from President Obama's administration are expected to visit Detroit Thursday to meet with local officials and community leaders.

The meetings are part of ongoing discussions involving the white house amid Detroit's financial troubles.

This summer the city filed for the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history.
