Personalized Experiences and Up-to-the-Minute Information Make This Anything But Your Typical Commute
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif., Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PMC is proud to announce that it has launched a new interactive website built on a Kentico CMS for ACE (Altamont Corridor Express). The new website is home to a number of features designed to enhance ACE riders' experience and give commuters a new outlook on how convenient public transportation can be.
"Our website needed to change the negative American view of an outdated and unreliable public transit system," said Thomas Reeves, ACE Manager of Public Affairs and Community. "We wanted to adopt a modern European approach where we integrate public transportation into everyday life by focusing on how commuting by train can be a pleasurable experience."
The first step was to streamline how users receive information about their commute and interact with ACE. Incorporating a fluid desktop-to-mobile experience, GPS-powered train updates, service alerts, and an enhanced online ticket system make for a seamless commute.
"PMC wanted to make each ACE rider's experience on the website unique," said Heather Hogan, Project Manager at PMC. "To do this, we created targeted landing pages for each type of rider, giving users relevant information upfront."
One of the challenges ACE faced was that riders consume information in a variety of ways. PMC addressed this challenge by streamlining ACE's ability to instantly communicate with riders by promoting their email and text alert system using alerts on the website and through social media.
"I am thrilled how easily ACE can post alerts, news, and new pages to the site," said Errol Schmall, Marketing & Communications Specialist for ACE. "The feedback from riders has been very positive."
ACE riders are encouraged to experience the new site by visiting www.acerail.com.
