TYLER (KYTX) - Some 50 Tyler residents are still without electricity after an 18-wheeler failed to clear a group of power lines. As a result, three power poles were snapped.

The accident occurred Monday afternoon in a southeast Tyler neighborhood off Joy Dr.

Oncor spokesperson, Charles Hill tells CBS 19 News that at one time more than 300 residents were without power. Crews are working to replace the power poles and it could take the rest of the afternoon to repair the damage.

Suddenlink customers are also affected by the accident.
