Children are a Gift: Ladarrion and Ladaja

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) –Split up in two different foster homes right now, Ladarrion and Ladaja enjoy the time they do get to spend together.

Ladarrion said, "Cause I love her." Ladaja added, "I miss him."

These siblings hope to be together again soon in a forever family. "They are all they have to each other as far as family goes," said Ashley Gipson with Child Protective Services.

While they both have the same goal to grow up together, they have different personalities. Ladarrion is 9-years-old and pretty outgoing.

"I'm a good kid," he said with a smile. He also likes to be active. "I like to go swimming and ride my bike. I like sports and football, soccer and basketball."

He's enjoying the 4th-grade. "School is good and I like math and science and reading and I just like school."

He does needs structure to keep him on task. Gipson said, "He is also going to need that father figure that is going to give him a lot of one-on-one attention."

His sister is 7-year-old Ladaja. "She's the opposite of her brother. She's real quiet. She's a girly, girl. It's all about her dresses and she wants to make sure her hair is done at all times," said Gipson.

"I love my Barbie dolls and I like to ride my bike and play outside," said Ladaja grinning from ear-to-ear. And she's in the 2nd-grade. "I love school!"

Like her brother, Ladaja likes to be involved in activities. Gipson added,

"She's in Girl Scouts and she loves it. She's a Daisy."

These siblings have had a lot of disappointment. They recently went to their adoptive placement where they thought they would live forever, but when it fell through, they came back into foster care.

"It's a lot of rejection. We prep them in the beginning and tell them they are in their forever home and then for them, it's like we didn't tell the truth," explained Gipson.

Trust may take these siblings some time, but with unconditional love anything is possible.
