(CBS/KYTX) NEW YORK - Julius Graham, a 43-year-old homeless man from Texas, has been identified as the suspected slasher in an attack on a Manhattan bike path Tuesday. The attack left five people, including a 2-year-old boy, injured, New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.

Kelly said Graham used half a pair of scissors in the attack. The suspect, who is described by authorities as being emotionally disturbed, is in custody. He has reportedly been taken to a hospital for evaluation. Officials say five people, including a 2-year-old boy in a stroller and his father, were slashed in the attack and subsequently rushed to nearby hospitals.

One of the victims is a woman in her 30s and she is listed in critical condition with a back injury, officials say. Police said she was undergoing surgery. Police say all of the victims are expected to survive.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Tuesday near West 59th Street and the Hudson River.
