SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TodayVeriFone Mobile Money Limited, a joint venture between VeriFone Inc. and Mobile Networks Limited to drive mobile payments adoption through innovative solutions at the point of sale, announced that it will be exhibiting at the annual GSMA NFC & Mobile Money Summit in New York from the 14th - 17th of October 2013.
The GSMA's NFC program is designed to stimulate the global commercial deployment of UICC-based NFC services, which have the potential to generate significant value for mobile operators' customers.
"Mobile wallet adoption is suffering in many cases due to the inability for the customer to transact at the point of sale with a range of devices," said Chris Jones, CEO of VeriFone Mobile Money. "The VeriFone Mobile Money solution is designed to help these services providers drive adoption and leverage their investments in this technology by replicating the applications to the point of sale terminal. More than 70% of the world's electronic transactions still go through the point of sale device."
"VeriFone Inc. and VeriFone Mobile Money are working globally with service providers and mobile wallet technology companies to extend their solutions to this existing customer base."
The GSMA is working with mobile operators in markets across the world to build the inter-industry ecosystems needed to roll out compelling NFC-based services. The GSMA is also highlighting the socio-economic benefits of SIM-based NFC services to governments and regulators, as well as promoting the technology to relevant stakeholders across the world.
VeriFone Mobile Money has developed a range of NFC based solutions to drive the adoption of Mobile Wallet technologies globally. This technology integrates to existing mobile wallets and bridges the gap between banks, mobile operators, financial services providers and transport providers with the point of sale.
"We are pleased to exhibit at this conference as the GSMA plays a fundamental part in driving mobile, mobile commerce and mobile technologies such as NFC adoption globally," added Jones.
VeriFone Mobile Money and VeriFone Inc. will be situated at Stand Number 19, South Pavilion - Level 1, Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street, New York, United States.
VeriFone Mobile Money is a joint venture between VeriFone Inc. and Mobilis Networks Limited to provide complete mobile money solutions designed to meet the needs of mobile operators for telco-based money transfer and payment services in emerging markets.
