Church of Wells members asked to leave Lufkin High School

Posted: Updated:

LUFKIN (KYTX) -- Three members from the controversial Church of Wells were given criminal trespass warnings after showing up at Lufkin High School Thursday afternoon.

It's not clear what the men were doing at the campus, but Lufkin Police say Kevin Fessler, Troy Dannenberger and Christopher Smith received warnings.

The men were told that if they return to the campus they will face charges.

The Church of Wells was most recently in the news when a 26-year-old woman from Arkansas fled to East Texas to join the church.

During welfare checks Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputies say Catherine seems healthy and told them it was her decision to join the church.
