Update: The woman who was on an ordinary run for groceries spoke with us about her incident on Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. in a Walmart parking lot in Tyler.

She says it was her instinct to fight back when a man forcibly tried to pry her purse from her arm. The 60-year-old, whose identity we are concealing, tells us the man did not threaten her with a weapon.

The woman also says an "angel" came to her rescue-- another shopper who heard her yelling and came running to intervene.

Tyler police are still searching for this man. Click the video above to see store surveillance footage of what he looks like, and call if you have any information.

______

(KYTX) - At approximately 8:30pm on October 8, 2013, a 60 year old white female was walking to her car at Wal Mart at 3820 Hwy 64 West.

The female placed her groceries into her vehicle and walked her buggy to a cart return location.  As the female was walking back to her vehicle, she was approached by a suspect who grabbed her purse.

The female refused to let go of her purse and the suspect threw her to the ground, still attempting to take the purse.  A nearby customer heard the victim screaming and ran to assist.  The suspect then fled on foot.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 6'0" tall with an average build.  He is between the ages of 35 and 40.  The suspect was wearing a pink polo shirt and blue jeans.  Store video shows the suspect entering a white vehicle and leaving the scene towards the Hwy 64 exit.  The vehicle may be a Buick LeSabre.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department at (903)531-1000.
