Thousands expected in Lindale this weekend

Posted: Updated:

LINDALE (KYTX) - If you want to have fun with the entire family, there's no lack of festivals in Lindale.

Country Fest, Bull Fest and Pinktoberfest are all happening.

Thousands of people are expected to hit the sidewalks in downtown Lindale, and many local business owners hope the main attraction this weekend will bring those people across the street.

In the heart of downtown Lindale, business is striking a different beat.

"I'm always closed Sundays, but I'm open this Sunday cause we're expecting a huge amount of folks.

Victor Thomas owns Victor Music Exchange.

He says with the projected 5,000 people coming to town, he's ready to show off his digs.

"Honestly, I really haven't thought about it even bumping sales this weekend. What a weekend like this does is bump exposure," says Thomas.

Country Fest and Bull Fest draw several thousand each year, but this year Miranda Lambert is throwing in a grand opening to the pinked out mix, her Pink Pistol Texas store.

"Hotels are full, they're gearing up. Restaurants are gearing up to feed that many people," says Shelbie Glover, the Lindale Chamber Director.

Glover says the weekend should prove to be profitable to the city's economy.

And every business is ready with a pink bow, and welcome signs.

"Expecting great crowds, watching social media all week to see how many people from out of the state are planning on attending," says Glover.

And those who do come for the fair, parade, or the line up, they're sure to find a little piece of Lindale to take home.

"It will bring business to all downtown businesses. Downtown struggles, folks think to go to Tyler to shop often times. Hopefully this will change things," says Thomas.

And if you are headed down for Country Fest, Bull Fest or Pinktoberfest, remember there will be a lot of people and some road closures this weekend.

Country Fest kicks of tomorrow morning with the parade.
