We live in the South, so some of us may have a Southern accent, but would you consider saying "goodbye" to "howdy, y'all"?
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee was going to offer a speech class for it's workers next month to do just that, until it got canceled.

LINDALE (KYTX) - Pinktoberfest in Lindale ended on a big note as people poured into the city for the grand opening of country superstar Miranda Lambert's new store, The Pink Pistol.

CBS 19's Katiera Winfrey was there for the opening and takes us inside to see the new shop and meet the people who waited for hours to get inside.

It's easy to tell by the line stretching down Hubbard Street, the grand opening of The Pink Pistol was a success..

"You'll be waiting out here for hours to go inside," said Lindale resident Monica Combs. She chose to wait to go inside the store.

However friends Amber Boyd and Queenie McCartney from West Monroe, Louisiana said they have the time for their favorite Star.

"We drove 3.5 hours to get here," said Boyd.

McCartney said, "Because we love Miranda."

The pair along with hordes of other people bared the line and waited to see Miranda too. The only glimpse many caught was during the ribbon cutting, even so that didn't impact shopping.

Once inside room was limited as shoppers searched through shirts, racks of wine, jewelry and a whole lot more.

Some imagine the new store will help put the small town on the map.

"It's gives us more recognition, usually people say where is Lindale I have no idea, and I say it's the hometown of Miranda Lambert."

As for what it will bring to the city economy, Combs expects things will be just fine.

"I don't think she's gonna steal anyone's business, I think everyone can hold their ground."

This is the second Pink Pistol store. The original one is in Oklahoma where she lives with her husband fellow country singer Blake Shelton.
