Update: Both suspects from coin operated machine burglaries behind bars

UPDATE: Tyler Police Department has confirmed that both suspects Michael Robert Ward and Tracy Lynn Mallewick are now in custody.  Ward was arrested yesterday in Van Zandt County and Mallewick was arrested in Dallas County.

 


 

 

TYLER (KYTX) UPDATE- A man wanted in connection with a series of coin operated machine burglaries is in custody in Van Zandt County.

Tyler police say a Van Zandt County Constable tonight recognized 35 year old Michael Robert Ward as someone who lived near him, after seeing him on the news.

When county law enforcement tried to arrest him he reportedly ran away, but was caught and taken to the Van Zandt County jail.

42-year-old Tracy Lynn Mallewick is still on the loose.

She may be driving a 2002 maroon Mercury 2-door Cougar, Texas license number BM2M786.

 


TYLER (KYTX) - East Texas law enforcement agencies are investigating numerous reports of burglary of coin-operated machines in hotels in their jurisdictions.

 

The suspects have been identified as 35-year-old Michael Robert Ward, and 42-year-old Tracy Lynn Mallewick.

They are driving a 2002 maroon Mercury 2-door Cougar, Texas license number BM2M786.  Recent security video indicates that Michael Ward has shaved his head.

Several warrants have been issued for their arrest in connection to these burglaries. Tyler police believe they struck again last night at the Holiday Inn Express on W. Gentry.  The last known location where the suspects were residing was in the Canton, Texas area.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of these two suspects is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833). Crimestoppers will pay up to $500 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
