Business News: Facebook to remove privacy setting

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) -  In Business News, Facebook is getting rid of a privacy feature that lets users limit who can find them on the social network.

Users can no longer control whether people can search for their name on the site's search bar.

According to Facebook, fewer than 10 percent of its nearly 1.2 billion users were using that setting.

(CNN) - Americans are expected to spend slightly less on Halloween this year.

A National Retail Federation survey found people plan to spend $6.9 billion dollars on costumes, candy, decorations and greeting cards.

That's down 14 percent from last year but up from 2011.

It breaks down to $75.03 dollars of spending per person celebrating the holiday.

(CBS) - It's official, Thanksgiving is no longer a full day of rest.

After 155 years of being closed on the holiday, Macy's is going to open its doors at 8 p.m. to give customers a jump start on their shopping.

Macy's is facing growing pressure from other stores and online merchants who are pushing deals on the holiday.

(CNN) - Netflix is in talks with several U.S. cable TV companies to make its streaming video service available through their set-top boxes.

That's according the Wall Street Journal. It says Comcast is one of the companies Netflix is negotiating with.
But that one sticking point is that Netflix wants cable companies to adopt special technology designed to improve the quality of its streaming video.
