Web Exclusive: Monday may be the best to job search

Posted: Updated:

(CNN/CBS) - There's new information that might help if you're in the market for a job. New data shows that Monday is the best day to look for a job. This is from a study by bright.com, a job seeking website. It finds that 30% of people who apply for a job on Mondays advance to the next stage of the hiring process.

And it's official. Thanksgiving is no longer a full day of rest. After 155 years of being closed on the holiday, Macy's is going to open its doors at 8 p.m. to give customers a jump start on their shopping. Macy's is facing growing pressure from other stores and online merchants who are pushing deals on the holiday.

Facebook is getting rid of a privacy feature that lets users limit who can find them on the social network. Users can no longer control whether people can search for their name on the site's search bar. According to Facebook, fewer than 10% of its nearly 1.2 billion users were using that setting.

Next year at this time, travelers at Dallas Love Field will be able to fly non-stop to their destination instead of stopping in another Texas City or surrounding state first.
For 34 years, the controversial "Wright Amendment" has prevented any plane carrying more than 56 passengers from flying between Dallas' Love Field and cities outside of Texas. Many say the law has unfairly targeted Southwest since Love Field is where the economy carrier is based. Employees are showing their support counting down with T-shirts promoting "Nonstop Love".  The law is officially off the books on October 13th of next year.
