(KYTX) - A former Winnsboro Police captain pleads guilty to violating the rights of the citizens he once protected.

Roderick Hashaway told a federal magistrate judge he had violated those rights and used his position in law enforcement to do it.

Hashaway has faced accusations from numerous East Texans over the years, claiming he had planted drugs in their cars during traffic stops.

This case is the result of a year-long FBI investigation. Hashaway is still awaiting sentencing.
