HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all United States and Pennsylvania flags at the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Lackawanna County be lowered to half-staff on Friday, Oct. 18, in honor of Army Air Force First Lt. Robert G. Fenstermacher.
Fenstermacher, 23, of Scranton, was killed in action during World War II when his aircraft crashed in Belgium. His remains were recently identified and are being buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
Both flags shall remain lowered until sunset on Friday, Oct. 18, and be raised to full-staff on Saturday, Oct. 19.
All Pennsylvanians are authorized to participate in this tribute.
