LONGVIEW (KYTX0 -Strumming a six string. Something many kids fall in love with, but some may not have the means to pursue it.
Kenn Chinn began The Chinn Guitar project to try and change that.
"The project is just to find people that have a passion for music but don't have access to the instruments"
He says their visits to Children's Medical Center in Dallas first opened his eyes to the *healing* power of music.
"A nurse came up and saw my daughter's guitar, and asked if we wanted to see a musical therapist. And I thought sure. And I was just so impressed. It's really a field onto its own."
He was so impressed that he donated 10 guitars to the hospital's therapy program in June.
"With a few visits to Dallas we are getting deeper and deeper connected with Children's Hospitals across the nation.'
Tuesday, The Chinn Project made a trip to Children's Healthcare Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia - there he gave away a dozen more.  Guitars gifted are paid for by Chinn himself, or are donated by Mundt Music. Manager Gina Mundt says she  heard about Chinn's desires to donate to sick children and her business wanted to be involved.
"It's just giving back, and helping Ken, especially for the children at the hospital. They have been through so much and it just makes me feel good."
