Before you know it, fall will be here and it will be time to go back to school.  For parents that means stocking up on notebooks, number two pencils, and back to school clothes, all of which usually take a big chunk out of a family's budget.  So, just how much do parents will pay to send their kids off to school this year?More >>

A marine veteran from Pennsylvania has made it his mission to hike to every state capital in the country in honor of first responders who lost their lives on 9/11.

Lance Robinson is hiking his way through America to promote "Brother to Brother Day." It's a holiday he hopes to make official, so it can be celebrated every year on September 10th.

"On 9/11, we all became brothers," Robinson said. "The goal is to reach all 48 states...hike in all 48 states in honor of all the fallen. Our military, our police, our firemen, our EMTS and our veterans."

He walks anywhere from 15 to 25 miles a day, most of the time in full firefighter gear.

The next stop on his journey is Austin, but after that it's time for a break. He hasn't seen his wife and kids in seven months.

"Just like any loving family, they miss me and I miss them and I can't wait to get home," Robinson said. "It's been a long journey this year."

He's already made his mark on Central Texas. The Lorena Fire Department is hosting an event on Monday to raise awareness about his journey.

Jay Fonville of the Lorena Fire Department says the community and all of the other departments in the area have shown their support for the evening.

"They feel it's a great honor to be a part of this once in a lifetime event," Fonville said.

Robinson has walked in 32 states so far with his cart of honor, but Texas is the first state to get a flag on it.

While he appreciates the outpouring of support, he says his mission is still simple.

"I just ask that people keep hopes and prayers and thoughts about the men and women that serve in our community each day," Robinson said.

The event will start at 6:00PM in downtown Lorena on Monday and everyone in the community is welcome.

Police officers, firefighters and members of the military will walk down Center Street in full gear before the wreath laying ceremony.
