Candelight vigil held for missing East Texas woman

Posted: Updated:

LINDALE (KYTX) -  There's a lot of pain and concern on Lynn Day's face. Her daughter, Elizabeth Hamilton, has been missing since October 25th.

"We pray Lord God, in the name of Jesus, that wherever she may be, that you wrap your loving arms around my child," Lynn Day prayed.

On this night, she's joined by her family and friends who care about her and the safety of her child.

Since Elizabeth's disappearance, Lynn has worked night and day trying to get answers that will bring her daughter home.

"Even though she is 28-years-old, she still is my child," said Day.

Friends have created facebook pages hoping to get the word out about her disappearance.

"Everybody knows somebody who's a little further away that gets our information, a little further out, so we can spread it," said Karie Olson.

Smith County investigators are looking at all possible leads in Elizabeth's case.

Right now, it's not known if she disappeared on her own or if someone else was involved.

"It feels odd, it's not suppose to happen this close to home," added Olson.

For the people who hold onto these candles, they serve as a flicker of hope.

A light that they hope will light her path, and give peace of mind to a mother, who just wants to hold her daughter again.

"The uncertainty is probably the worst part of this whole thing," said Lynn Day.
