Remembering Veterans Nationally

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia was packed today in honor of those who served.

The president laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns this morning.

There was also a remembrance ceremony in the Memorial Amphitheater as part of Veterans Day activities honoring those who've sacrificed for this nation.

Meanwhile among the parades and the solemn ceremonies this Veterans Day, there are worries on many vets' minds: the long wait that veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars still have to endure to find out what kind of help they'll get from the government.  The wait for veterans' benefits is now about a year.
