Missing 6-year-old East Texas child found in Arkansas

WHITE OAK (KYTX) - At 3:29 a.m.on November 17th, White Oak Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of East Center Street, in reference to a missing 6 year old female child.

After a search of the home and area Officers obtained other information concerning a possible suspect, Jeremy Jones a relative of the victim. It was determined through an investigation that Jones had taken the child from the residence.

A police bulliten was put out concerning the missing child ,and at 5:32 a.m. the Miller County Sheriff's Department (Texarkana, Arkansas) contacted White Oak Police stating they had located the child walking down Hwy. 549 with just her pajamas on and no shoes.

The victim stated that Jeremy had taken her from the house. A warrant was obtained from the Gregg County District Attorney's office for Jeremy Jones for the offense of kidnapping.

Jeremy Jones was located in Antler Oklahoma by Antlers Police Department where he was arrested on the kidnapping warrant and placed in the Pushmataha County Jail.

The case is still under investigation with the assistant of the FBI.

 

 


MILLER CO. ARKANSAS (KYTX) - A missing 6-year-old girl from White Oak, Texas is safe after she was found walking along an Arkansas Highway early Sunday, and the person who allegedly took her is in custody. 

 

Miller County Sheriff investigators say the child who went missing around 3 a.m. Sunday was discovered by motorist several hours later at the intersection of highway 549 and 237 in Arkansas.

The motorist told authorities they thought they saw a deer near the roadway and turned around to discover it was a young child wearing no shoes or pajamas.

Authorities say the person who allegedly took her is in custody in Oklahoma.

The motorists took the girl to the Miller County Sheriff's Office, before being taken to a local hospital for observation.There were no injuries and she was later released to her parents.        

Sheriff officials say a relative of the child was later arrested in Oklahoma -- and is waiting extradition back to Texas.
