Argument over Alabama game ends in murder

HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) - Hoover police have charged a 28-year-old woman in the shooting death of a Birmingham woman at an Iron Party on Saturday.

Adrian Laroze Briskey was arrested Saturday at the Summerchase Apartments after shooting 36-year-old Michelle Lacette Shepherd.

According to Captain Jim Coker, Briskey and Shepherd were attending an Iron Bowl party at the complex and didn't know each other prior to the party.

Both are Alabama fans, according to police, and were involved in an argument after the game.

When the argument turned physical and spilled out into the parking lot, Briskey opened fire with a small handgun.

Shepherd was shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Briskey will be transferred from the Hoover City Jail to the Shelby County Jail. She's being held on $75,000 bond.
