HARRISON COUNTY (KYTX) - UPDATE: Copies of the arrest affidavit and the search affidavit released today lay out the details of the murder Marshall Police say happened Sunday morning.

That's when they found Kari Dunn's body inside a room the Baymont Inn Motel in Marshall. Police say she was stabbed to death.

After getting a call Marshall Police showed up at the Baymont Inn at 11:15 Sunday morning, to find two terrified children saying they think their dad killed their mom.

When detectives got to room #153, they found Kari Dunn's body in the bathroom with multiple stab wounds to her face, neck and abdomen.

According the arrest affidavit, hotel management confirmed Brad Dunn rented that room at 9 Sunday morning, but by the time police showed up, he and one of his three children were nowhere to be found.

A witness staying in a hotel room nearby told police they heard children screaming in the hall between 10 and 11 a.m.

The witness says after the children said, "I think my dad is killing my mom," the witness started beating on the door to Dunn's room.

They say that's when a man opened the door, grabbed 4-year-old Kylie Dunn, and ran out of the hotel.

After hearing the witness account, law enforcement set off an amber alert.  Brad Dunn was tracked down in Cass County hours later, with Kylie safe in the car.  He was arrested and Kylie was returned to relatives.

Child Protective Services is investigating alongside Marshall Police. CPS has placed the three children with their maternal grandparents, where they will stay from now on.

Brad Dunn has been transferred to the Harrison County Jail and is charged with murder. His bond has been set at $5 million.
