Two arrest in Cherokee Co drug bust

CHEROKEE Co (KYTX) - Two Cherokee County residents have been arrested on several drug charges that include manufacture, and delivery of a controlled substance

On Thursday 12-05-2013 at approximately 8:00pm,  Investigators and Deputies of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from a Jacksonville PD Investigator and an Officer from Rusk Police Department, executed a Narcotic Search Warrant at a residence on CR-1310 in the Gallatin community.


Investigators had been gathering information into the suspected sale of narcotics from the residence.  An affidavit of probable cause was prepared and presented to Judge Forest Phifer, who issued the narcotics search warrant.


Located and collected at the residence was a significant amount of methamphetamine, over $1,000 in cash, a stolen firearm and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Arrested at the scene were Steven Ray Davis and Samantha Douglas, who were transported to the Cherokee County Jail and charged with Manufacture / Delivery of Controlled Substance and Theft of a Firearm.

Other charges may be forthcoming pending the outcome of the investigation.  Both subjects were still in Cherokee County Jail as of 11:00am Monday morning (12-09-2013).
