Web Exclusive: YouTube names its top videos of the year

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) - YouTube has released its top videos of the year and the big winner is South Korean rapper Psy with his hit "Gentleman."  "Gentleman" was the most viewed video of the year on YouTube, with 598 million views.  Psy held the top spot last year too with his huge hit, "Gangnam" --  YouTube's most watched video ever with 1.8 billion views.  Following behind him this year is Miley Cyrus, taking the number two and three spots with "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball."  Those hits had nearly 700 million views combined.  Katy Perry's "Roar" came in fourth with more than 200 million views.

A legal dispute over the latest hobbit movie that opens this weekend is going to court.
Miramax filed suit in New York state court Tuesday against Warner Brothers.  The suit claims Warner Brothers owes them proceeds from two forthcoming movies in the Hobbit trilogy.  In 1998, Miramax and Warner Brothers signed a deal that gave Miramax a portion of the proceeds from the first Hobbit movie, but Warner Brothers, broke the story into three films.  Miramax wants a portion of the proceeds from each of the films, which could amount to $75 million dollars.  Warner Brothers said Miramax will have to live with its decision to sell the rights -- calling it "one of the great blunders in movie history."

Kristen Stewart is the new face of Chanel.  The 23-year-old Twilight star will front the ad campaign for the new Metiers D'Art 2013-14 collection.  Stewart is joining a list of Chanel stars that includes Blake Lively, Keira Knightley and Diane Kruger.
