Convicted child molester brought back to Longview after failing to register as sex offender

Posted: Updated:

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A 26-year-old Longview man convicted in 2006 of molesting a six-year-old child he was babysitting has been returned to Texas, after a Gregg County judge issued an arrest warrant for Dykes' failing to register as a sex offender.

Gregg County sheriff's deputies picked up James Leroy Dykes Tuesday from a jail in Clark County, Kentucky. Dykes was wanted on a warrant signed by Gregg County 188th District Judge David Brabham for failing to honor his lifetime duty to register annually as a sex offender.

Dykes was sentenced to four years in prison in 2006, after he pled guilty to indecency with a child.
