Posted: Updated:

UPDATE FROM TYLER POLICE:  The 2900 block of W. Front Street has been cleared of all debris. At this time all power to the area has been restored and the traffic lights are now operational. All roads have been re-opened for normal traffic.

TYLER (KYTX) - At approximately 2:30 PM The Tyler Police Department responded to a report of a downed power line on the 2900 block of W. Front Street. Upon arrival Officers found that a tree had fallen and taken down power lines across Front Street. This in turn has caused a power outage in the general area, including Harvey Hall.

Harvey hall is currently holding a gun show which, according to event organizers, is shutdown until power can be restored.

At this time Front Street is closed in both directions with traffic being diverted onto Lyons Avenue or Chandler Highway. In addition, the traffic lights are out at Front and Glenwood. Oncor has been notified and power will be restored and the road re-opened as soon as possible. In the interim motorists are asked to avoid this area if possible. Officers are directing traffic and motorists should use extreme caution if they must travel through the affected area.
