Harrison County Sheriff Deputy being questioned after bar shooting leaves one person wounded

UPDATE: On Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 1:58 am Marshall Police Department
Communications received several calls reporting that shots had been fired outside
Charlie's Bar, located at 303 N. Columbus.

While officers where en route, Marshall Police Communications also requested that
Marshall Firefighters/EMT also respond due to a subject being injured.

Upon officers' arrival, one individual at the scene was 32-year-old Matthew Hasler
an off duty Harrison County Sheriffs Office Deputy, was later transferred to
the Marshall Police Department for further investigation.

The other subject, identified as 20-year-old Trey Austin Rogers was transported by ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Deputy Hasler began his career in March 2002 as a jailer and resigned from that position in May 2004. He was re-hired in October 2004 and resigned in June 2007 as a Deputy Sheriff. He was re-hired as a Deputy Sheriff in July 2007.

The investigation is ongoing by the Marshall Police Department in conjunction
with the Texas Rangers and the Special Investigators of the Harrison County District
Attorney's Office.
