BULLARD (KYTX) - The Bullard High School parking lot was turned into the meeting place for hundreds to gather to hold vigil for Bullard student Haley Lombardo and her mother Hollie Warren who died shortly after one another following a car wreck Friday night.

CBS 19's Katiera Winfrey went to the vigil and shares how the community is coming together to cope with the tragedy.

It's hard holding back the tears.

"I can't even explain how I'm going to miss her, she was a really good friend," said teammate Claudia Young.

She said it's going to be hard moving forward without her friend.

"It hurts, the last it me you saw her you didn't know it was gong to be the last time," Young said.

She's not the only one hurting. Hundreds are hurting and shining a light to remember 15-year-old Lombardo.

The vigil was a somber, but uplifting ceremony. Scripture was read, favorite songs were played and tears were shed.

Young said, "It's going to be rally hard for everyone to get through that, I can't even imagine what school is going to be like.

McCall Cowert played volleyball with Lombardo. Cowart said Lombardo was great athlete and a bold soul. Wearing jersey number one on the court fit Lombardo's personality perfectly.

"She step up when you needed her whatever you needed her for...she was there," Cowert said.

Through the tears and hugs, the community is working to wrap their minds around losing someone so young.

Cowert remembers what went through her mind when she found out what happened. "This can't be true this can' thappen, I was gonna play with her next year, I was gonna be on her team.

Despite the loss, there's a positive: Lombardo and her mother are together in heaven.

As everyone works through the loss, they wait until they will meet her again.

Aside from Haley and her mother, there was one more teen in the car at the time of the accident, that person is expected to recover. There is not set date for a funeral.
