Rusk High School students donate thousand of food boxes to help needy

Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) - Students at Rusk High School spent the day packing thousands of food boxes to help the needy.

Some of the food will go to help feed the poor in Guatemala and some of it will be donated to a community food bank right there in Rusk.

The Future Farmers chapter at the high school learned about the Kids Against Hunger's mission to help feed starving children at a national conference.

They said they wanted to be a part of this and got the entire school involved. One of the advisors told us this wasn't just about providing food it was about the students learning the importance of giving back.

To find out how this changed one student's attitude, see Kelly Gooch's story tomorrow in the Tyler Paper.
