Arrest made in Longview Homicide

UPDATE: On December 27, 2013 at 6:00 a.m., the Longview SWAT team executed a search and arrest warrant in rural Smith County in reference to the homicide in the 1100 Block of Sabine Street that occurred on or about December 23, 2013.

Alejandro Garcia Gallegos was arrested on a charge of murder. With the assistance of the Smith County Sheriff's Office, Gallegos was interviewed in reference to his part in this ongoing investigation. Gallegos was transported to the Gregg County Jail and booked into jail on a $500,000. bond. Anyone with more information is urged to contact Longview Police.

 


UPDATE: An autopsy reveals 19-year-old Andre Chavez whose body was found in a wooded area died of blunt force trauma to the head and sharp force injuries to the neck.

The autopsy ordered by Gregg County Justice of the Peace Talyna Carlson also indicates skull fractures, lacerations,and abrasions to the head and neck.

The cause of death is listed as a homicide.

No arrest have been made in the case.



(KYTX) -Longview Police Department says they have identified the body found in homicide investigation.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Andres Chavez of Longview.

 


LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Longview Police Investigating Overnight Homicide


On December 23, 2013 at 7:35 a.m., Longview Police were dispatched to a Dead Body in the 1100 Block of Sabine Street. When officers arrived they found the body of a male victim lying outside a car, near a wooded area.

At this time police have not made a positive identification on the body of the victim.
