UPDATE: The pedestrian killed in Monday's night wreck about eight miles west of Marshall was 35-year-old Michael Shayne Haltom, of Magnolia, Ark., said Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sylvia Jennings.

Jennings said dispatchers received a call at 8:10 p.m. Monday, saying that a man was seen crawling in one lane of eastbound traffic on I-20 near Hallsville. A second 9-1-1 call came in, saying the man had been hit by several vehicles.

"I don't think they realized they struck something," Jennings said.

An autopsy was performed on Haltom's body at a Tyler forensics lab this morning, and the body has been transported to Meadowbrooks Funeral Home, she said.
