MARSHALL, Tx. (KTBS) - An East Texas teenager is in critical condition at a Dallas, TX hospital, after being diagnosed with the flu.

Her family has created a Caring Bridge page in order to post updates on Jennings Neel's condition.

According to the Caring Bridge page, the Tatum High School student was airlifted from Marshall on Saturday, and is in the ICU at Children's Hospital in Dallas.

Neel has developed complications from acute pneumonia, as a result of the flu.

Doctors at Children's Hospital determined that Neel needed to be placed on a lung bypass to help her body fight the infection.

"Jennings situation is critical, but her family has strong faith in God, knowing He is in control, and remains hopeful that she will recover," the page says.

"We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most."
