Katiera Winfrey is excited to continue her journalism career in Texas. She joined the CBS 19 news team in April 2013. Aside from being able to tell great stories, it's a gift to be able to get paid to be nosy.

Katiera started her journalism career as a web producer in Indianapolis, IN at WISH-TV, from there she moved up to an associate producer.

After about a year up north, she moved back to her hometown of Houston, TX to be an assignments editor at the CBS station KHOU. She only stayed there a short eight months before being offered her first on air position in Midland/Odessa, TX at KMID-TV. Katiera was there a year, before she made the trek from west Texas to east Texas to become a multi-media journalist at CBS 19.

Katiera has always wanted to be a TV personality. As a child her dad told her to pick a career she wouldn't mind getting up to do everyday. Katiera is a natural born storyteller, and With the last name Winfrey, being on air couldn't be too bad.

While in college Katiera was a member on the Texas Southern University Debate Team. During her college years on the team she served as team vice president and ultimately became the team president.

She graduation in May 2009 from Texas Southern University with a degree in communications: broadcast journalism. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalist (NABJ).

If you see Katiera out and about, be sure to give her a Texas sized "Hey".

For fun, Katiera like to talk, read, play basketball and play with her dog Sarabi.
