Dangerous Arctic chill arrives

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) - Polar temperatures are sweeping much of the country. Millions of Americans, including us here in East Texas are preparing for the coldest weather we've felt in awhile.

Today is one of those days, where it feels impossible to stay warm, no matter how many layers you put on. An Arctic blast will drop temperatures to zero or lower across nearly half the nation by Wednesday. As many as 140-million Americans will feel the effects.

Forecast for Monday: colder weather in Nashville, TN, and Atlanta, than in Anchorage, AK.
The ice has already stranded travelers in Nashville, where interstate bus rides have been canceled or delayed.

Flightaware.com reported another three-thousand airline flights canceled on Sunday. The National Weather Service says much of the United States will see temperatures as much as 50 degrees below average in some cities.
