Before you know it, fall will be here and it will be time to go back to school.  For parents that means stocking up on notebooks, number two pencils, and back to school clothes, all of which usually take a big chunk out of a family's budget.  So, just how much do parents will pay to send their kids off to school this year?More >>

TYLER (KYTX) - A devastating fire Monday night virtually destroyed a longtime Tyler business, Moose Auto Glass.

But Eddy Moose doesn't have a lot of time for tears.

The Moose family has been in the auto glass and upholstery business since 1954.

And Moose moved to this Timms St. location just off loop 323 25 years ago.

Eddy's son-in-law Wes Dobbs says that around 7:30 Monday night, Eddy got the kind of phone call no businessman ever wants to get.

"Well, I got a phone call from one of the employees at Mike Pile that they see smoke, flames," He told us."And of course called the fire department. And we all started arriving here between 7 and 8."

And the fire took out most of the work area, totaling 4 cars in the process.

And smoke damage has ruined most of the supplies in the rest of the shop.

The cause is still under investigation according to Deputy Fire Marshall Tony Gumber.

"At this point we have not been able to pinpoint the specific origin of the fire or a specific cause of the fire," Gumber says.

But the company that's been around for 60 years, will be back, and soon...in a new building on the loop.

"Directly across the street here," Dobbs says. "The building is located directly across from Cavender's Boot City. It's the old location of Al Horaney's. And like I said, you can come in at 8 o'clock in the morning and get a new windshield put in."

And this move is temporary, because the old location will be rebuilt.

"It's just such a mess in there right now it's hard to tell anything," Dobbs told us. "But it will all get handled."
