Hospital in Lufkin confirms death from H1N1

LUFKIN (KYTX) - Lufkin Memorial Hospital officials Monday confirmed a 49-year-old man has died as the result of H1N1 flu virus.

Yana Ogletree Director of Marketing at Memorial Health System of East Texas says the whose name was not released had no underlying medical conditions.

Late last month, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital officials confirmed a man died from the H1N1 flu virus.

Texas continues to leads the nation in reported flu and H1N1 cases.

Health officials continue to urge people to get a flu shot if they have not already done so.
