2 arrested in Tyler burglary case

Released by the Tyler Police Department:

On Tuesday, January 14, 2014 around 3:10 a.m., Tyler Police responded the 9400 block of Tipperary in Tyler, TX on report of an auto burglary.

Upon arrival officers learned from the resident that the victim had a car parked in the driveway that was burglarized.  A garage door opener from that car was used to open the victim's garage where another vehicle was located.  The suspects burglarized that vehicle and left the scene.

Officers with the Tyler Police Department stopped a black Chevy Tahoe leaving the area.  Two occupants were in the vehicle.  Officers discovered property from the victim on Tipperary in the vehicle along with several other items of property stolen from other victims.

Jonathan Burkett, a 23 year old from Tyler, TX and Jeremy Junkins, a 20 year old from Whitehouse, TX were arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail on one charge of Burglary of a Habitation and two charges of auto burglary.
