Manhunt Ends in Pittsburg

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE (KYTX) -

The Pittsburg Police Department has released more details regarding a man they say robbed 2 convenience stores and set a Pittsburg ISD building on fire.

Police say it's this man , 45 year old Steven Schade. Police say after the alleged robberies and arson, a perimeter was setup and a 2 hour manhunt swept the city of Pittsburg.
Pittsburg Police and Camp County Sheriff's Department searched on foot as Texas DPS searched in the sky.
Just after midnight, Schade was found and booked into the Camp County Jail.
Pittsburg ISD Superintendent Judy Pollan says the building burned was a storage shed that held invaluable things like a few spare desks and other supplies. She was worried for much bigger reason.

"But one of the things that did disturb me is if what if that would have happened when we had several hundred students here. It made me thankful that we had just installed a high security fence.' - Judy Pollan

Along with installing  the fence 2 years ago - the superintendent says they also installed automatic door locks, and have armed police officers on campus.
