UPDATE: Benefit and blood donations set up for critically injured Lindale firefighter.

UPDATE: Benefit and blood donations have been set up for a Lindale firefighter critically injured while battling a house fire Thursday night.

Blood donations can be made in honor of Joe Yeakley , at Carter Blood Center anytime anytime, and their Mobile Unit will be at Brookshire's in Lindale, Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 11am – 4pm.

Yeakley, a 14 year veteran with the Lindale Fire Department with nearly 30 years in the fire service was critically injured Thursday night while battling a house fire. The Lindale Fire Department is asking for your prayers for FF Yeakley and his family.

Dixie FF Caleb Snider also received minor burns on his arms during the incident.  He was treated for his injuries at ETMC Tyler and has been released.  FF Snider has just over a year experience.

Yeakley was airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with burns over more than 50 percent of his body.

He remains in critical condition.

Fellow firefighters also tell CBS 19 that firefighters from Flint are staffing Lindale station #2, and firefighters from Tyler and Longview are manning station #1

Lindale Fire Department, along with Dixie FD, Noonday FD and Red Springs FD, where dispatched to a Structure Fire at 15922 Childress around 12:45 am on January 17, 2014. At 1:25 am, during operations, a partial collapse of the structure left one Lindale Firefighter trapped, with 2 others being able to escape by only moments.

Within a few minutes, the trapped firefighter, had been removed from the collapse and was under the care of the EMS crew on-scene.

The incident is currently under investigation.
