Little Caesars Love Kitchen delivers pizza to The Salvation Army

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) - Pizza delivery got a whole new meaning for the folks at The Salvation Army. It came in an 18-wheeler called the Little Caesars Love Kitchen.

CBS 19'S Katiera Winfrey was there when they started handing out pizza with a smile.

Pizza pizza, and more pizza made it's way inside the salvation army today.

"I eat pizza 24 hours a day seven days a week," said Dennis West. He was one of dozens who filled the Salvation Army cafeteria wwaiting for pizza, that's not typically on the menu.

"This truck is amazing...It's got the oven the dress station refrigerator in  there, it's got everything equipped in there that you need  to make pizza's with," said Debbie Goat, who's husband owns the Tyler Little Caesars franchise on Beckham.

Since 1985 the Love Kitchen has been traveling all over the US as well as Canada providing food to those in need. And when necessary, it goes to disaster zones to provide food. Most recently: Moore Oklahoma.

West said, he's constantly amazed at all the effort put in by organizations like The Salvation Army and the Love Kitchen...

"I never knew that people cared about people as much."

Driving the big rig all over the country is the easy part. Local franchisees are the ones who make getting hot pizza's out possible.

Goat said, "There's quite a bit of it, you gotta get the employees for it, the supplies for it, but it's very fulfilling we love it."

West said, Little Caesars work isn't going un-noticed or un appreciated.

"It's just amazing god brings people to you for a  reason."
