Fire destroys ETMC storage building in Jacksonville

Posted: Updated:

JACKSONVILLE (KYTX) -  A late night fire has destroyed an ETMC storage unit in Jacksonville.

The building was at 69 and North Bolton street. When firefighters got there around nine Saturday night, the 6,000 square foot, two-story building was fully engulfed.

Jacksonville Fire Captain Ted Hunt says it took crews about 45 minutes to put out the flames.

He says the floors were hard wood, so they had to move all the debris to make sure there were no hot spots under the large pieces of tin.

No one was inside when the fire started, and no one was injured.

Crews were not able to tell immediately what was inside the building when it burned.

There's also no word yet on what caused the fire. Jacksonville fire crews will be investigating today.
