Arrest made in ETX school bus arson case

SULPHUR SPRINGS, (KYTX) - Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the burning of a Sulphur Springs ISD bus.

Authorities say 20 year old Francisco Manuel Velazco of Sulphur Springs turned himself in to Fire Investigators. He is being held on a 2nd degree felony arson charge in the Hopkins County Jail, His bond is set at $50,000.

Another suspect, 24 year old Kyle Michael Case of Sulphur Springs was already in jail on unrelated charges. He is now charged with two cases of 2nd degree felony arson and is being held on bonds totaling more than $100,000.

According to myssnews.com, the school bus was parked inside a fenced in area on the school property. It has not been determined at this time how the suspects gained entry to the secure area.

The bus was gutted, and according to school officials , the bus was not in daily use.

Investigators also believe the bus fire is related to two other trash and brush fires that occurred Sunday night around 10 p.m.
