Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) - Hundreds of parents and potential foster parents filled green acres Baptist church today for the second -- God's Heart for Orphans East Texas Conference.

CBS 19's Katiera Winfrey went to the conference and explains how it was used to encourage fostering children and educating parents.

Knowing they are doing God's work is what prompted Christian and Emily Punches to adopt...not just one, but six children.

"It is like when you step out on faith God just brings the things you need," Mrs. Punches said.

the couple has three seven year olds, two six year olds, and one five year old.

"Its been a really cool journey," said Mr. Punches.

The Punches was one of many families the filled the green acres crosswalk center for the second God's Heart for Orphans East Texas Family Conference.

"Every child  deserves a loving family," said RRocky Gill with Hope for 100 --the organization over seeing the event --says navigating the fostering and adoption world can get tricky. However the dozens of  venders helped lead to way to better understand how fostering and adoption works.

In addition to that several presenters were on hand to share parenting tips.

The punches say, even with six children, they are always learning to be better parents.

"Giving us education the practical tools to be able to help  our kids navigate through their struggles and difficulties," Mr. Punches.

The purpose of hope for 100,is to place children from difficult back grounds with loving families.

"Christians are responsible to care for the fatherless...anytime you can be involved in anyway in helping children find a family that will love them forever. It's the most awesome thing in the world," Gill said.

For the Punches, being able to be parents to children is awesome.
