New CfA Research: Frontline and nonclinical jobs are growing dramatically in both number and complexity

MANCHESTER, N.H., Feb. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- College for America will host a webinar on Wednesday, February 5th with higher education and industry experts to discuss their recent research revealing the rise of nonclinical and frontline health care roles – and how administrators are working to keep pace with the changes.

The webinar will be hosted by Julian Alssid and Melissa Goldberg from College for America's workforce strategies team and MJ Ryan, Workforce Development Director for Partners Healthcare, a large not-for-profit integrated health system.

Recently College for America released a research report examining six fast-growing nonclinical and frontline healthcare jobs which are growing in complexity as well as prominence in the wake of the baby boom retirement, Affordable Care Act changes, and increased reliance on information technology.  Analysis shows a shift toward a more versatile set of skills than was required for these types of positions in the past.

The report also included an infographic and DWAs (Detailed Work Activity) for each of the top six fast growing nonclinical health care jobs.
