USDA Announces Beef Recall From Fort Worth Company

FORT WORTH, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety & Inspection Service has announced the recall of nearly 16,000 pounds of beef products from Fort Worth's PFP Enterprises.

The recall involves 10 to 40 pound boxes of beef products that were produced Dec. 5, 2013 and distributed to stores and restaurants in Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma and Puerto Rico. Officials say the beef may be contaminated with E. coli.

E. coli is a bacteria with strains that can cause severe food poisoning. There have been no reports of illnesses.

The recalled beef can be identified by the USDA Mark, bearing the marking ‘EST 34715‘.
