Second major winter storm hits Midwest, Northeast

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - People across the Midwest and Northeast are getting a double dose of winter storms this week.

Ice fell off a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper yesterday. It was left over from Monday's snow storm. Heavy snow and ice is expected to fall today from the Midwest through New England. On Tuesday, the storm dumped almost a foot of snow from Kansas through the Ohio Valley.

More than 1,600 flights were grounded yesterday and the cancellations are already piling up today.
