LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Kilgore College police say a classroom at it's Longview campus was ransacked by a Longview teen.

Nineteen-year-old D'Sean James Caldwell is in the Gregg County Jail this morning on $5,000 bond, charged with criminal mischief and public intoxication.

Shortly after 9 Tuesday night, KC Police Officer Donald Willeford was working foot patrol in the college's Hendrix Center parking lot when an instructor told him "there was a young man out of control inside the building." According to a arrest affidavit, the officer went inside to find Caldwell sitting on a bench with the odor of an alcoholic beverage, unsteady on his feet and glassy, red, bloodshot eyes.

When Caldwell was escorted back to the classroom to get his belongings, the officer said he noticed the classroom "was in disarray. I observed destroyed desks, pieces of video and audio equipment, books, tables, wiring, mannequins, etc.," Willeford wrote in the affidavit. "During questioning, he admitted that he destroyed the room and had been drinking alcohol prior of contact."

As much as $20,000 in damage was caused, according to Caldwell's charges.
