SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - Authorities are asking drivers to be careful when heading to school or work this morning.

Several accidents have been reported mostly in the Smith County area -- a few of them are in Tyler. DPS is reporting several rollover accidents on I-20 and on Highway 64 and Loop 49. In the accident on Highway 64 and Loop 49, our crew on the scene tells us it looked like more than one person was inside the truck. They were taken to the hospital. Right now we don't know anything about injuries.

Many of the roadways have been treated with sand and are beginning to dry; improving driving conditions within the City of Tyler.  However, drivers are asked to reduce their speed when crossing bridges or traveling on outlining roadways due to the buildup of a slushy mixture in some areas.  If travel is not immediately necessary this morning, it is recommended that drivers remain off the roadways. If you have to be out, please be careful when driving this morning and give yourself plenty of driving time.
